Urgh...this episode was so long. The ending...was surprisingly good. Honestly, I've had a rough time with the journey to here, but I thought the ending did a good job.

So, a while back, I made the offhand comment that you're better off writing a short story about how your group saved Kakeru and you'd get the same basic concept of this story.

So, this week's episode felt like it took forever for me. I felt like I was picking at pretty much everything...so apologies in advance. I still have an overall problem with the fact that so many things in the story HAVEN'T changed from what's explained in the letters and I feel like a broken record.

Well, the animation wasn't as noticeably bad as last week's episode. I've asked this before, but I guess I need to ask again. Are we good now? It feels like Kakeru's resolved himself, but there are still enough episodes remaining for things to go sour. Also, this post is a bit shorter because of how much of the episode is eaten up by the race.

Holy crap, I could not stop noticing the animation quality of this week's episode (I did my best not to point it out too many times). Was I just blind before or is this new? Standard letter-related grumbles aside, I guess this week's episode was supposed to suggest the rift building between Kakeru and Naho as he tries to keep her at a distance to "protect" her. Given that next week's episode is probably going to be the all-important relay race, maybe that means that they'll have an argument as a result?

Oh Naho...am I really supposed to cheer for you? Because it's really difficult. Anyway, I guess the "we're all in this together" vibe from this episode wasn't bad, but I'm really wondering...at what point do we cross the line into manipulation? Feels a little bit sketchy. And Naho, I just have no words...

This week's episode wasn't bad, but isn't it happening too early?

So the big reveal in this episode is not bad. We might actually have some hope for saving Kakeru. That being said, I'm still not fully convinced...part of me wonders whether it just devalues the time travel aspect and makes consistency harder to maintain. On the shoujo side of things, I'm just still upset that Naho has no idea that Kakeru likes her. But I guess I have to celebrate the fact that she finally read ahead?

I'm really conflicted here. On the one hand, this week's episode delivers a pretty reasonable interpretation of time travel and how it could inevitably happen. On the other hand, the final moments of the episode seem to just step all over that explanation by suggesting that the timeline will stay largely intact with the major difference being that Kakeru will be saved. That just doesn't sit right with me. It feels too convenient.

I'm not the only one who thought this episode was awkward, right?
