Well, this ending had strong points and weak points. I liked how they introduced the concept of Akutagawa and Atsushi working together, especially Dazai's line about Akutagawa fitting a support role. Kyouka's story also resolves nicely and doesn't feel overly forced.

Well, this episode felt...longer than it should have. I always have an issue when this series tries too hard to beat a point home, even resorting to showing you a flashback to a scene from this episode that you just saw. At the end of the day, you can really boil the fights down to a few punches as well. That being said, the fight isn't over yet, so we might be in for something more interesting next week.

I think that the episodes that involve Rampo tend to be more interesting for me. As such, I thought the first half of the episode was pretty fun, though it was a terrible excuse for a mystery. I think Akiko had strong moments in the first half too. The second half of the episode didn't feel like much...more of a setup, I guess? I'm looking forward to seeing Akutagawa and Atsushi team up against Fitzgerald next week, though.

This episode's a tough one. I think the main battle of the episode was pretty cool, but there were some elements in the episode that I would consider a regression for the show. To give a quick example, I wasn't a fan of having Dazai off on the side explaining stuff again. I also would have liked to know what was so special about Lovecraft...

At this point, we have to be done with the super pitiful Atsushi, right? I think it's about time Atsushi got a decent episode...he's my major complaint with the series and I think this one helps. Dazai's role in the episode is a bit questionable, but the extra authors introduced in this episode make me glad the Guild exists. At least they make me feel like I actually know literature...

Aww man...I thought we were done with this stuff. We just had to bring Atsushi back into the equation. I agree with Dazai...Atsushi really needs to quit with the self-pity. It's the most frustrating part of this show.

First moves go to the Port Mafia. Pretty cool tactics so far, but this war isn't going to be interesting if they control the flow completely. I'm really looking forward to see how the other sides retaliate. I still think this second season is interesting...but again, surprisingly low amount of Atsushi, so I wonder why...

Hey, I think we finally got some familiar authors this week. I know I've voiced my concerns about returning to the main cast, but this introduction back to the main story seemed...fine. Adding the Guild as a third party into the Agency vs. Port Mafia conflict could make things interesting if the alliances aren't clear. Comedy also wasn't too noticeable this week. I'm not ready to write it off yet.

Early episode and I really wanted to finish the arc, so I'm going to mess with my schedule. This arc has been so much fun to watch. I'm torn on this final episode. Action-wise, it's probably the best one we got in the Port Mafia arc. I'm still not sure if all of the exposition in the episode was completely necessary, but I can sorta see why a lot of it had to happen.

Holy crap, that escalated like crazy at the end. Way more brutal than anything I was expecting. And it can only mean one thing...the mafia arc continues! I'm pretty happy that we keep getting more this.
