Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens Episode 6: Guess he was a side boss

I was surprised to see this story end this week, but I was happy with how it ended. The show is really playing fast and loose with the factions and allegiances, but it all still seems manageable. I personally would have liked to see more from the main fight, but it's not a huge deal-breaker.

I know it's nitpicking, but I was bothered a bit by this scene. Lin draws his katana from his left side, but it still manages to appear on the right side in the blade clash. It's a small gripe, though.

There's a funny parallelism in this episode that I liked. It starts with Lin getting captured, and Banba rushes to his rescue only to be captured himself. And as it turns out, Lin didn't actually need his help at all. Similarly, Lin comes out of the suitcase to find that Banba has been captured and rushes to his rescue only to find that Banba has also already been rescued. I don't know if it was intentional, but I like seeing stuff like that.

Hey, this guy's still relevant.

While it was pretty obvious that the avenger guy was the torturer here, I liked the way the development was introduced. The previous scene showed him getting the job on the shady job website, after all. However, I was okay with it because it felt natural. Sure, there's no way that Lin would die, but the assailants basically tell us that Lin is safe through their conversation.

They're really getting a lot of mileage with this joke about Saruwatari's terrible early game, huh?

Was I supposed to recognize the woman who killed the chairman? I'm deathly afraid that I missed her somewhere. The end of the episode made me feel like I didn't, as Enokida seems to indicate that she has some relationship with Banba (an ex?). It probably explains why she helped Banba, but it doesn't really explain how she knew that he was in danger. Was she sent to kill the chairman on a completely unrelated job?
