Dies Irae Episode 3: Rude awakening

Wow, I wasn't expecting the show to resolve the "guillotine murders" so quickly. This episode managed to cover hints at Kasumi's insanity near the beginning, a scene depicting the good times Kasumi had with Ren in the middle, and the big reveal that she's behind the murders at the end. Yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the pacing's a bit fast. I'll give them points for telegraphing with Kasumi's "psycho" moments, though.

To be fair, though, the link between the mysterious Mercurius and Kasumi was made pretty clear given that their eyes glowed with the same symbol. It wasn't exactly subtle. Still, having her blame Ren's lack of acknowledgment for her contributions seems a bit...meh. I guess that's what happens when senpai doesn't notice?

Boy, I was really hoping Rusalka would give us a bit more in the opening of the episode. That was probably the most vague description of her organization's goals I could have imagined.

I still don't get the connection between Nazis and Marie, but there's probably some weird historical stuff I'm missing there.

Plus, it's always fun when the audio cuts out right as the character on screen is saying something important, right? It's not frustrating at all!

I just wanted to state for the record that this line annoyed me. Saying "you remember, I'm sure" sounds to me like "this is something we'd normally never have to say, but the audience needs to know".

I'm sure these scenes are mostly here for "censoring", but it doesn't make them any more fun to watch.

Anyway, I guess we're starting to learn more. I still feel like I'm missing a lot of information, but I have to assume that's mostly expected at this point.

They cut a pretty long scene there with Ren asking like 6 different questions and getting long answers.
Understandable because it's anime but doesn't help with the understanding for people that haven't read the source

While I'd normaly agree this one is pretty much in character for Trifas as he is a massive dick.
