ACCA - 13-ku Kansatsu-ka Episode 7: Shocking reveals?

I'm assuming this is where it all starts going. Schwan is aware that his succession is in jeopardy and Jean probably also realizes that he's standing in a mine field. This is probably when we start to see what all the buildup was really meant to do. Looking forward to it.

I was going to question what the point of this mental rundown was. It seemed like a repeat of stuff we'd seen, but I think this line saves it and gives it purpose. Also, this is probably the most we've heard so far of Jean's inner thoughts.

Really teasing us with the 33-year-old incident, aren't they?

Mmm...cake. Wait, what were we talking about?

Maybe it's a difference of culture, but is it really that strange to act normal here? Sure, you should always be respectful, but being too nervous to speak around royalty seems a bit much.

I agree with Nino's cryptic expression here. It seems weird that we're not being shown any of the small talk between the king and Jean, which means that the fact that they're together talking is probably important.

That looks familiar.

Huh...this is a new one. Uhh...gluten-tastic?

That's one way to put it.

Yup, yup. Wait, what? I'm kidding. While this seems sudden, it makes sense given the focus of the episode. The beginning hints at this, the portrait seems to point out the link to Lotta, and there's a big similarity between Lotta and the king and their mutual obsession with sweets.

Yeah, I'm starting to feel disappointed with my past self for being suspicious.

Why do I get the strange feeling Jean will ultimately turn out being right on this? I feel like this show tends to go with the easiest answer, though.

For some reason, I thought that Schwan knew this. Well, Jean's in trouble now.

So...Abend is the father? I'm probably picking low-hanging fruit with that one.
