ACCA - 13-ku Kansatsu-ka Episode 5: Busted

This show is really messing with me and I'm having a lot of fun watching. At this point in the show, I'm inclined to accept the portrayal of Jean that we seem to have been given so far. But there's still that nagging feeling that there's more to him that really keeps me wanting to watch each episode.

Who cares about the mission when you have toast? Also, am I supposed to recognize this secondary stalker? Wait...I think that's the guy that tried to frame Jean.

I mean, this practically confirms that we saw Crow last week, but it still refuses to be definitive about it. I really like stuff like this.

I so want to know what's going on in Jean's head right now. The hints he's getting in this conversation are pretty obvious for the audience, but it's hard to predict how he would respond to them since we still really aren't sure what he knows. Someone who's been watching him so much that he's used to it? Someone who has been watching him in the past month despite the fact that Nino should already have taken care of his observer? Is Jean making the connection?

Stood up.

This is really what I like about this show. Did Jean really see Nino watching him? Did he just notice a figure? It's just so hard to figure out with these guys.

Crap...I haven't been paying too much attention to her, but she's getting screen time. Is she supposed to be important?

Bread brothers!

Oh snap!

Aaaand they're fine. I really can't tell if Jean is just lackadaisical or the biggest schemer of all time. this Jean's way of getting rid of Nino while he's at the next district? But Nino's smart enough to realize that...right? So it's really just casual?

What are you trying to say there, Nino?

I also really wondered what Nino was getting at with the talk about the trains and how accidents had decreased. Is this a warning, foreshadowing, a random off-hand comment? I love that this show doesn't make things clear until it chooses to but once it does it makes sense, but ending the episode and not knowing kind of just sends my head around in circles for the week as I try to figure out which bits of information are relevant.
