Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 32: Flags raised

This week's episode leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I understand that the flags were literally screaming at us, but is it wrong to think it could have been handled better? I feel like we're going to need to see some strong character development out of this for it to be justified.

Random question: how cheeky would it have been to bring back "Raise Your Flag" just for this episode?

Also, the reveal that Chad is still alive in the preview for the next episode is soooooo random...

I don't know if I said this last week, but using the Tekkadan Earth team to try and take out McGillis is a pretty cool plan from the bad guy perspective. The relationship between Tekkadan and McGillis hasn't exactly been public knowledge. I really want Takaki to realize the trap in time, though...

Nooooooooo! Don't say that!

I know it's crazy, but I want this to work...

Aww man...I didn't want either of them to die. The fact that Mikazuki shows up right after Aston gets hit makes it feel so cheap, too. If Takaki hadn't forced the encounter, they would have been fine...

I really want to see Galan vs. Akihiro. I feel like Akihiro hasn't done nearly enough in this season.

Seriously, man? You expected to be a star in your first Mobile Suit battle?

Eh...this battle didn't feel like much to me. It pretty much felt like Akihiro should have lost, but he ends up winning because his Gundam is far superior. I get that they tried to make it a point that he was emotionally unstable, but it also make it feel like he deserved to lose.

If Takaki doesn't kill Radice after this line, I'll be surprised.

Attaboy...

What? I don't think this line's as deep as this guy was hoping. Honestly, I was expecting him to say "you can become a different type of pilot than Mikazuki" instead of "that line makes you a pilot already". Just feels weird.

Hmm, why do you think Akihiro should have lost? He has plenty of experience under his belt, fighting better machines, and even more of them all coming at him at once. Also, Akihiro was thinking clearly even if he was fueled by rage. There is a difference.
Gaelio for example was enraged by McGillis' betrayel, and it clouded his mind causing him to fight terribly.
I see no reason why Akihiro shouldn't have won.
Also, this was a chance for him to avenge a brother, which he wasn't able to do when Masahiro was killed. Mika did that. This was Akihiro's chance to shine, and boy he did!
