Tales of Zestiria Episode 10: Even more Alisha

Yeah, I'm still not sure how I'm supposed to handle the Alisha screen time. At this point in the game, Alisha had been relegated to "stay in Ladylake because you're not compatible with Sorey", so she's really doing well for herself. Her non-aggression idealism is...something. We'll see how it goes as we seem to approach a final battle of sorts.

On the flip side, I'm not sure I like how the malevolence is being handled in Sorey's case. It always feels like Lailah's explaining nothing when she tries to explain anything.

As a side note, was anyone else bothered by the music that was playing in Alisha's fight? I dunno why, but I just wasn't a fan of that song.

Uhh...run this incantation by me again. Even if you say "the way of all things", is that really an incantation?

Aaaand then I turned into a dragon.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't happen, but for some reason, I get the sense that Alisha is asking for death.

*facepalm* Okay, this is my last subtitle nitpick of this episode (I'm sure there are more).

I...don't understand this. I'm sure it's a bad translation, but what do you mean by "take over the malevolence"? Does that mean Sorey has to take the malevolence for himself? Or just be strong enough to overcome it? Neither makes that much sense...

That's not suspicious at all...

While he's here, why not purify all of these graves? You can't expect me to believe that this was the only who spawned a hellion. More importantly, what happens if Sorey doesn't do this? Does the soul continue to spawn hellions?

Round 2!

Okay, I was kinda expecting Rose's identity to be revealed, but I wasn't expecting it to happen like this.

Alisha...you're really asking for it.

I like how these skits are also serving as mini character introductions.

I thought "take over the malevolence" was a combination of both the things you mentioned.

    Death flags everywhere!

The skits at the end may be the best way of doing a post credits preview of the next episode as well as consolidating character points I've seen in an anime. They actually make it worthwhile sticking around until the very end of the episode.
On another note, where are you watching this? I don't remember there being that many issues with the subs (I watched on AnimeLab) though it is possible I just wasn't paying as much attention.

it's funny from a game veteran perspective too because i usually skip skits in the game to keep playing, but they're the part i dont want to skip in the anime

im watching a funimation rip. funimation doesnt have a great track record with sub quality, but meh. dont know too much about animelab, but i could check to see if it's the same subs.
