Taboo Tattoo First Impressions (1): Justice puns go!

This episode in a nutshell: Justice gets beaten up repeatedly. Well, I wasn't sure what to expect going into this series, but I think I'm interested enough from the first episode. The premise doesn't really feel like anything new, but it looked alright. The major complaint that I have for the first episode is that the transitions between scenes seemed too chaotic...maybe that's pacing. It just felt like it went from one thing to another. I have a bit of bias towards May'n, so I thought the opening song was cool. As for the ending song, the voices were a bit weird at first, but I think it's okay too.

Okay, Taboo Tattoo. You have my attention.

I know I'm being picky, but this is starting to be one of my least favorite lines in anime.

You know, I was going to get mad at this guy for doing the "running late with toast in mouth" thing, but then this girl does it for me. Thanks!

I'd criticize this guy, but my board would probably look exactly like this if I were teaching a class.

Yeah, that was my reaction too. I guess India was originally a British colony, so maybe it's just American-ish Indian curry?

Haha this is awesome. The fact that the music starts up and seems to synchronize with the sound effect of the missing phone makes it so much better.

Not the cabbage! What did it do to you?

Wait...his name is Justice? Heck, I agree with the person that made these subtitles...a name like that deserves to be in quotes.

Pretty solid fight. I'm cool with watching this guy get beaten up.

Naaaahhhhhh...

Given the way her subordinate reacts to the locket and the timing of its appearance, I'm going to guess that Justice reminds her of whoever's in the locket.

I'll just leave this here.

I find it hard to believe that she went from correctly observing Justice with binoculars from a different building to incorrectly stalking him in plain view. I mean...she had it right the first time. Is this just because the bug didn't work?

Leaf punching contest!

I'm not a huge fan of this "explain fighting" style. At this moment, I'm honestly more curious what the difference is between a "Sealed" and Justice (who hasn't activated his tattoo). Is "Sealed" just activating the tattoo without the trigger? Is there a requirement to use it or is it just the default?

Oh, I just noticed how the blood in this series looks...

Main character gets the special tattoo? Meh, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Still, I find it surprising that the tattoo is triggerless given that it clearly absorbed his blood.
