Mayoiga Episode 10: ...What?

Wait...so he's back? Mitsumune is finally free? Alright, guys...show's over. Let's pack it up. What? Still two episodes left? Come on, man! Give me a break!

Only a dramatic news anchor would liken a group of people running away together to a mass suicide. I'd make fun of this, but it's depressingly accurate.

Yes, you did...good job.

This entire scene somewhat lacks impact. I get that they're trying to explain that the father realized how wrong he was when Mitsumune disappeared, but since we're still trying to process how Mitsumune managed to get back to society, it's hard to focus on the father's apology. His apology is correct...it just feels wrong.

Mystery man that we can't see and Mitsumune recognizes because it will make for some dramatic reveal later...so much fun.

Back to the action! Love survives all things, right?

Nope, I'm just as confused as you are.

This is the jumpiest episode ever. It's like the people in charge went "oh shoot! We're almost out of episodes! MAKE EVERYTHING HAPPEN!"

This entire scene with Reiji is definitely "off"...I wonder if his mellow demeanor is similar to how some of the guys in the main group were acting just now.

I'm not even close to surprised. I've suspected the details of Yottsun's "death" for a while now.

Screw you, Yottsun. Why would you decide the monster is called "Nanaki" and expect everyone else to know what you mean from your message on the rock?

Oh...I see...perfectly normal.

Sure, I believe that Kami-sama can see this just from Mitsumune's eyes. I mean...he's been researching the village for so long that it makes total sense! Right? RIGHT???

Hahaha! Nice one, Nanko.

You got out because you lost the Nanaki? Then how did Mitsumune get out? Moreover, how did Masaki get in? Masaki doesn't have the Nanaki as well, right?

Well, finally everything makes sense...but that doesn't make it okay. So what's the endgame for this series? Are they going to come up with something like "you can't lose your Nanaki, you have to make it part of you"? Because that's not a cliche at all...

I think the biggest problem that I had with this episode is that it doesn't feel like there are any triggers. We got broad explanations of what's happening and we can make decent conclusions about what's been happening so far. But all of the timings felt like they were crafted to fuel the exposition...none of them actually made any sense. For example, the fact that everyone in the village is just randomly starting to lose their humanity. Why, though? Because they keep running from their Nanaki? Because they've been away from the real world and their real problems for too long?
