Mayoiga Episode 8: Suspicions

So now we finally get to understand the mechanisms of the village? I understand why everyone else is shocked by this admission from Masaki, but why is Mitsumune shocked? Given what she knew about the tunnel and the fact that she walked right through the creature chasing him, why wouldn't you at least suspect this?

I have no idea what this title means. Is it telling me I'm supposed to visit the village in order to doubt Masaki?

Purposely not showing us this guy's face...probably because we need a shocking reveal soon. Apparently, his name is Reiji.

"Old dude warns main characters not to go to the mysterious haunted place in a horror show" cliche.

Uhh...what? According to her story, Masaki couldn't see the monster at all and wasn't able to get back to Nanaki after falling down the cliff. Even if she believed Reiji, she would have known nothing except for the existence of something Reiji called a monster. And if she had said something about it, there's no way anyone would have believed her given that they all wanted to go to this village so badly. I deem Masaki innocent for that. But still...why does she seem so immune to the monster?

Masaki's so obviously suspicious here that I don't know if I can suspect her. From her story, I agree that the homes looked different from what we saw in the present day, but the way she talks about it feels so awkward. Everything in me screams that Masaki is innocent. She's too obviously suspicious and she's revealed too early. But if any show is going to pick the obviously suspicious girl as the culprit, it would probably be this one.

Also, I won't take credit for this because I saw someone online point this out. There are apparently two Koharuns in this scene, one standing with the crowd and one standing next to Masaki.

She's really ticking me off...

I mean...he's not wrong...

So, I get the sense that this scene is meant to illustrate the problems with "witch hunts" that you tend to see online. If that's actually the case, I'm really upset about it. Literally everything these guys has been saying is completely reasonable and they have a right to ask the questions that they do. Given that Masaki keeps giving these weird and vague answers, I'd be upset too. I'm assuming they're going to reveal that Masaki is telling the truth all along, but that just makes it worse.

Time for the driver to make his move.

Interesting. I suppose if the monster took the form of Reiji, that wouldn't scare Masaki, so it makes sense.

Pfft...just admitting that you should be the one that's suspected is not going to make me stop suspecting you, Koharun. You need to do something Masaki-level to ease suspicions on you.

Alliance building! Now, we just need for these tiny groups to start battling and we have a series!

First off, the way Valkana saves Koharun lacked in all suspense. Secondly, how did he see the arrow coming?

Why does he randomly have stone arrows? I'm guessing he'll just say he found them and grabbed them to fight off Jack...

Someone help...
