Gundam Thunderbolt Episode 1: Random lightning in space

What an unexpected Christmas present. Based on what I've heard, this series is based on a popular manga series. However, it's one I haven't read, so I'm pretty much going in blind. I liked what I saw in this first episode. It goes right into the action with the first scene being a sortie and sets up the main rivalry in the series quickly. Also, I thought the scene from the point of view of the Zaku facing the Gundam was pretty well done. You could really see the power of the Gundam in action while also seeing the terror in the pilot facing it.

This episode had a lot of still/quiet moments when it comes to the soundtrack, but I really liked the music that did play. Jazz is probably one of my favorite genres of music and I thought that it was placed very well in the episode (like when the jazz at the beginning gets cut out when Io is shot down). So yeah...I'm looking forward to what this series has to offer. Since it was a fairly short episode, I assume the next one should come soon, right? Who's with me?
