Charlotte Final Episode (13): In this episode, Yuu takes an arrow to the...

Wow, so they really decided to fit Yuu's entire journey of regener- err saving all of the ability users in a single episode. In the realm of stuff I liked from the episode, I'd say I liked watching Yuu's descent into madness as he gains more powers. With the memory of Nao fading, he reverts to a form similar to the beginning of the series. That being said, I think my complaints with the episode should be obvious. The power of courage as the last power is meant to be used as a form of comedic irony in the final dramatic moments of the series, but it ends up sounding really silly. Additionally, the fact that the helicopter shows up right in time just as Yuu is plundering the last power is insanely cringe-worthy...at best.

As a bit of a side note, I actually liked the tease in the middle of the episode where Yuu had the potential to heal his eye and chose not to do it to avoid entering the same loop as his brother. That being said, I have ask...why didn't he just heal the eye and not use the power? It starts to make sense later when Yuu starts realizing he can't trust his own mind (after he takes the sleeping pills), but at that point, it should have been fine. Anyway...as I leave this series behind, I can't help but feel a bit of pity at the fact that it's doomed to be perpetually compared to Angel Beats. I'm still trying to decide whether I liked this show for the show itself or just because it was fun to read the online reactions from others watching it...
