Buddy Complex First Impressions: To the future!

Well, that was a very question-raising first episode. Our main character Watase Aoba is brought to the future into a mecha by his classmate Yumihara Hina, who is also apparently from the future. Based on what I've seen so far, I'm guessing Hina is on the enemy team in the future (evidenced by the surprise from the person who came back in time to kill Aoba). Aoba is also some sort of famous mecha pilot in the future, but the main question is why Hina and Aoba split upon going through the singularity.

More than likely, Aoba was sent to a point further in the past from the point Hina left in order to go to the past. At this point, Hina is still an enemy and no one knows who Aoba is. He'll then build his reputation and then get this future Hina to fall in love with him, which would explain her embarrassed behavior when travelling to the past. But this begs the question of what happened to the other Hina that loves Aoba? Does she still exist? Anyway, random speculation aside, music for this show is okay. Opening is better than the ending, I would say. Next week, we meet the second main character, Dio, who is presumably going to be Aoba's partner. As with any show like this, he'll probably be suspicious at first, but hey..."Nice Coupling", right?

Hello Mart, my first time commenting you post, yoroshiku!! :D

urghh.... another mecha anime from sunrise. it will be... shiver

that was my speculation too. Aoba was sent to the future where Hina haven't know him. lets think positive... if Aoba still survive in that kind situation i think hina too, but it create another question, why hina didn't reveal with Aoba? or maybe she back to her timeline?

but to be honest, I more curious with Future Aoba that loved by Hina because what... we talking about sunrise mecha anime xixixixi

btw, sorry for my terrible english :D

I could probably go on for days with my analysis of this time travel mechanic, but let me just say that it makes most sense from what we've seen so far that Hina returned to her own timeline when traveling back to the future with Aoba. This, of course, has its problems, but it's the only scenario where the "future Hina" who loves the future Aoba still exists and remains consistent with the opening theme that features Hina as part of the enemy team. She would have no reason to be with the enemies if it were still the future Hina.

but small part of me thinking she was disappear just because she sparking and showing weird aura when she leaved Aoba http://imgur.com/6SKOHTk ... well, just small part xixixixi... but how dare future Aoba she let Hina do time machine when he know something bad will happens.

overall, the anime look promising, I will watch it regularly... i just hope this anime wouldn't ended like Valvrave, that;s anime kinda tragic :(
