Log Horizon First Impressions: Trapped in another game

Well, I'm sure everyone was expecting a .hack or Sword Art remake in this one. This show has a similar idea. The main character Shiroe finds himself living the game Elder Tale, an MMORPG. There is one major difference, though. Based on my understanding, the players don't die in real life if they die in the game. Hopefully, this quells a lot of the drama that Sword Art pushed. Most of all, I really don't want this show to go nuts about PK, like both Sword Art and .hack did. I feel like that card is overplayed. It looks like it'll be a big topic for the first few episodes, but my hope is that it isn't a huge deal.

Brief aside on music, I think that both opening and ending songs suffer from poor vocals, but the opening at least had a decent musical start. That's all I'll say about that. As for the show itself, the first episode gives me hope that this show will be different from the others of its kind. I would prefer that it doesn't take itself too seriously, but we'll see how it goes. I'm guessing the first few episodes will be establishing the world...I'm curious, so I'm willing to give it a shot.
