Valvrave the Liberator First Impressions: This is Gundam SEED, not Code Geass

Seriously, let's take a look at it...we've got a supposedly neutral space colony that's secretly developing a new type of mecha. They get invaded in an attempt to steal that mecha and it falls in the hands of a civilian who writes the OS in a way such that only he can use it (curse you Kira Yamato). He also develops an enemy "rival" who will be linked to him and will likely compete with him in subsequent fights (curse you Athrun Zala). See? Much more like Gundam SEED than Code Geass. It's missing the racism of Coordinator vs. Natural, but close enough.

Can't you sense it in the opening song too? The song's by T.M. Revolution, who did the first opening of both Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny. Anyway, that rambling aside. We have the odd vampiric state of our main character Tokishima Haruto as he somehow cheats death presumably with the fact that he just sacrificed his humanity. But how does this link L-Elf to him? Does he manifest a similar power? And is Shoko really dead? We never saw a know how I feel about that. Anyway, next week, they go into space! To the Archangel!

This is totally Code Geass, besides the fact that they have the same screenwriter. The art is the basically the same. But thats not all look at it.

Brilliant strategist that basically predicts the outcome of every battle in the form of chess. While keep a somewhat cold demeanor. L-Elf - Lelouch

Soft character that would do anything for his friends while why trying to up hold justice without sacrificing others. Haruto - Suzaku

Weird abilities given to the main characters. Ex. Immortality and the power to control another human being. These abilities are subject of a secret society hidden inside the folds of the story. Geass - Magi

    War between countries.

Thats all I have so far seing as how I only watched 12 eps. But Valvrave the Liberator is Code Geass. Difference is that it seems more battle oriented instead the strategy we are used to.
