Zetsuen no Tempest Final Episode

It's interesting when you think about how this show started...how did it end up like this? Never would I have expected some new character to show up halfway through the show and end up being such a major character in the end. You could argue that Hanemura was more important than Samon at the end, which is very surprising considering Samon's role in the first half.

It was a pretty predetermined ending...what you would expect based on what happened so far. There wasn't really any room for twists in this final episode. I just liked that Mahiro and Yoshino moved on...part of me considered the possibility that they just went on with their bromance for the rest of their lives, which would have annoyed me deeply. Meh...it works.

I kind of expected an ending like this, since the series didn't have enough time to really go off the deep end. Plus that gun from last episode didn't even look like it was pointed at Yoshino, so having him die would have been more than a little strange.

The ending was a feel good ending and expected which is disappointing for this series since I think Yoshino dying causing Hakaze to change sides in order to save (aka an ending based on Hakaze's internal conflict) would have been better

Hanemura imo was a cop out and of course a giant ass sword saves the day at the end which is a huge cop out.

All in all the first half of the series was excellent and I wish they had continued with the same dynamic throughout the series.

It kind of feels like SAO's SAO arc vs the Alfheim arc. The first arc of SAO was great. It was a romance masquerading as an action show and left a lot of room for internal conflict to be stretched throughout the season but then Alfheim ended up being such a let down compared to the first half. Thats kinds of the feeling I get with this.

I dunno how I feel...on one hand, the first half was certainly more entertaining and intriguing...on the other hand, if it had just stopped at that part, I dunno...

What I meant is that the second half just become an extension of that. Think SAO that doesnt stop on the 60th floor but instead goes through all 100.
