Psycho Pass Episode 3

Haha...new gun mode on the Dominator, with taser and kill modes, we have "rip a hole into everything" mode. Well, I'm not sure how well it will hold, but I guess I'm getting an idea for the show...this week's "mystery" seemed to focus on where the Sibyl System was lacking and how the Enforcers made up for that, so I assume that's how the show will go.

Also, Akane will probably become more "seasoned" in that she'll learn not to rely on the system or go by the book, like Ginoza seems to do. She'll still keep her naive ideals, though...this is anime, after all. So far, the show seems fairly episodic and it seems as though it may stay that way, only to finish up with some sort of story arc. I dunno...think they'll start an actual overarching story any time soon?

The development in this episode was phenomenally well done and you can see the story building up. Don't let the episodic nature fool you. If you have ever watched Psychic Detective Yakumo, this is the direction that show is going. Like you said it will begin in an episodic nature, but that is just to develop the characters and explain the relationships before delving into the heart of the series.

This episode was great for that purpose. This episode gave us some info on the Sybil system and how it determines who is a criminal and who isn't. It also gave us insight into the true nature of Enforcers. While Akane knows they are criminals, she didnt truly believe it, Ginoza on the other hand knew better. He knew that they were "hunting dogs" and Akane comes to realize their dangerous and predatory nature this episode. This will them up for the main conflict down the line, as Akane, as an inspector, will have to balance valuing their input with objectively keeping her distance in order to maximize the Enforcer's effectiveness.

Hmm...can't say I'm familiar with that, but I'll take your word for it. I look forward to it for sure.

There's also this idea that Inspectors are similar in that they are dogs of the Sybil system...possibly more so. But yeah...I totally see that balance between Enforcer and the book for Akane.
