Arcana Famiglia First Impressions

I decided to check this show out. It seems to center around a Mafia-esque organization called Arcana Famiglia, where some of the members have acquired psychic powers, manifested in a contract with an Arcana. It also seems as though the events of the show will feature a demonstration of these powers through a sort of tournament, the Arcana Duello, pitting these people against each other in order to become the successor of the head position. Our main character is Felicita, contracted with the Lovers Arcana. She’s been offered up as a prize of the Arcana Duello against her will.

The opening theme for this show is a pretty decent song, but I wish the vocal and guitar balanced better. I’d say the ending theme sounds better (as in I’d rather listen to it). As for the show itself, my first theory is that Felicita will join in on this tournament to prove herself somehow. The other possibility is that she just sits back and lets either Liberta or Nova win (they seem to be the primary love interests for her), which is a bit more boring. I’m always a fan of psychic powers, so my curiosity is piqued.

Out of the powers already revealed, invisibility seems the best to me, but I want to see what the others are. Also, although Liberta’s power activated, it’s not clear what it is. Maybe he was able to escape Pace by becoming ethereal? Or maybe negating another power? I’m willing to give this show a shot…see where it goes.

Space Brothers Episode 14

Pretty much stuff about the old guy this week…little bit about the loud guy. They’ve really surrounded Mutta with people who will make him feel self-conscious about his dreams. If I had to guess, I’d say although Nitta is calm, he doesn’t really show a lot about himself. Maybe keeps to himself too much. The old guy is probably just too old and the loud guy…well…yeah. I wonder if Mutta will have some luck situation again to make him the best choice.

They switched up the OP/ED this week. The new OP is a lot more calm than the first one. I’d say it doesn’t sound bad, but the voice seems off for the kind of tune it is. The ED has a familiar feel to it, but there’s nothing that really stands out. Next week, another situation arises. Team A is just full of problems. It looks like maybe a look into the histories of Team B as well…maybe a Kenji-focused episode would be good.
